RESUME
ANIMATION SUPERVISOR / LEAD
WHO AM I ?
A husband, father of three, and sandwich maker extraordinaire (ever tried mustard and pickles on your grilled cheese? You're welcome!). I'm an animator who strives to give my work an identity; something an audience can recognize, empathize with, and be immersed in. I work hard to ensure the animation that my team and I create are not only memorable, but purposeful. I have very keen eyes for motion and a strong understanding of how bodies are meant to move.
I believe in giving back to the creative community - and I do so as a sessional instructor at a local college teaching animation for both games and film/television. I also mentor several students per semester and help to work with them on their graduate projects. One of the most important things I teach, is that as an animator, you need to live life; experience new things. How are you ever going to animate something moving if you yourself, don't move?
This is what I've wanted to do from a young age. Cliche? Maybe, but I remember seeing Thundercats in the 1980's and thinking to myself, "I need to be a part of this somehow". I worked hard to get here, and don't plan on slowing down. However, when I'm not animating, I'm usually chasing my kids around with their endless energy, running marathons, or playing boardgames (the table-hogging variety). Sometimes you'll find me in the kitchen opening and closing the fridge, hoping that what I want to snack on will magically appear.
